The utmost importance for the Germans strategically was Castle Aghinolfi. It was located in Italy’s Apennine Mountains. The Allied forces were trying to take over castle. This is where Baker came into action. He and his 25 infantrymen on April 5, 1945 dodged snipers, barbed wires, and mines without any fear. There motto was to get as close as possible to the Castle which was under control of Germans.
