Astonishing Revelation Of Identity Of A Janitor!

First From His Own

Baker wiping his tears after receiving the honor

We know that medal of honor is the highest military decoration. But it wasn’t the only reason of celebration. Baker was a very special case. He was the first African American of World War II veteran to receive the honor from his race. Blacks were discriminated and him getting this recognition was a huge affair. This was made possible because of study by Shaw University in the year 1992 regarding the discrimination against blacks. This study lead to upgrade recognition given rather than Distinguished Service Crosses.

    1. I am pleased our nation’s military has finally and properly honored these brave men…and mildly proud as a retired Air Force man that our Academy family had a part to play in some of it. I will be looking to visit LT Baker’s gravesite at Arlington to honor him again and again on behalf of a grateful nation and fellow service member.
