The Legacy Of Most Decorated US Marine Officer

Nickname Mystery

Chesty Puller in uniform disciplined

You must have came across the word “Chesty” in previous slides and you must be wondering how did Puller get this name. No more puzzles because I am here to answer your question. The “Chesty” nickname was given to him because he was always very Stern and his posture was always disciplined. Men who worked with him portray puller as someone whose chest was slashed by bandits during battle of Banana wars. Therefore he had to get a still chest for himself.
