The Legacy Of Most Decorated US Marine Officer

No Fear

the china marine times troops together

In Shanghai, during summer of 1941, Puller was acting battalion commander. He went into a non commissioned officers meeting. It was a sensitive matter because there was chances of United States entering into second World War anytime. Sergeant of the meeting asked Puller, that how he would handle the situation if Japan attacked to get us to fight in second world war? To which Puller replied- “I don’t know what the United States Government will do, I don’t know what Marine headquarters will do, and I don’t know what the regiment will do. But no orders to the contrary – I’ll take my battalion and fight my way the hell back to frisco”. You can feel determination and courage in every word.
