The Legacy Of Most Decorated US Marine Officer

Lewis Burwell Puller, Jr.

Puller with his next generations

Puller had a son named as Lewis Burwell Puller Jr. He was also a Marine lieutenant like his father. He followed his father’s footsteps and served in the Vietnam War and during the time he served in the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines. Puller Jr. lived through a mine explosion and got severely injured. This happened during the battle with the Viet Cong insurgents. Chesty was after all a father, and he couldn’t hold his tears when he saw his son badly wounded in the hospital. Puller Jr. was himself great.
In 1992, he won Pulitzer Prize for his autobiography: Fortunate Son: The Healing of Vietnam Vet.
Puller’s whole family and generations always portrayed bravery and greatness. Why am I saying so? You will know soon.
