William still was a renowned businessman who hated the concept of slavery. He contributed in a huge way to abolish this malpractice. he collaborated with underground railroads and made it work in Philadelphia to protect black people from slavery there. During this time He saved around 800 people from the slavery. He wrote a book named as- “Underground Railroad: Authentic Narratives and First-hand Account in 1872”. This book contains a lot more about him and his contribution in abolishment of slavery. It also contains the suffering of the blood people and how they were protected.
